Grab Bag . . .
Hooray for women whose lives do not end at 30.
Also, there were a lot of great stories in the WSJ today. Starting off with this article on forced treatment for mentally ill persons. I understand the urge to protect innocent people from those that have violent pasts and mental issues, but to force drugs on any "crazy" person is so wrong I can't even begin to express my disgust. By all means we should help the people we can and we should let the law decide the consequences of those who break the law or hurt people, even in the midst of mental illness, but as I said in my interview with YAI, to force a grown adult to take a drug in order to remedy one set of symptoms, when it is quite possible that a whole new set will emerge, is wrong.
Another great one, at least to dorky me, is the "crackberry" lawsuit. Part of what's interesting is that this is a patent infringement case much like one that I'm working on right now. Also, all claim of a central patent have been rejected, which is interesting because why the heck was it allowed to be patented in the first place? Ah the law, how interesting.
Ok, I'm tired now, but I am officially a law school applicant. Still a few more applications to go, but none are due for another month. Feeling really good about it all though. Thanks to all of you who helped me read and edit it.

controlling people with dangerous thoughts is a philosophy of the left. The right only cares about pornos.
A disgusting assualt on freedom.
I think you are wrong by accusing the left of attempting to control people with "dangerous" thoughts and implying that conservatives are all about "freedom" or even unrestricted though. Regardless, it seems as if we agree that forced treatment is obviously a horrible idea unless someone has demonstrated a violent past and is putting other people's lives at risk.
